According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s coil-rolled coil (CRC) imports in March grew by 7.2% month on month and increased by 21.6% year on year to around 58,800 tons. The import value rose to US$58.1 million, up by 0.8% month on month and 62.4% year on year.

Among them, Russia exported a total of approximately 25,980 tons to Turkey, a year-on-year decrease of 18.7%. The following included India’s 11,600 tons and South Korea’s 8,900 tons.

Turkey imported around 160,700 tons of CRC in the first quarter of 2022, increasing by 2% year on year. Meanwhile, the import value was US$166.5 million, soaring by 53.7% compared to the same period of last year.

In the given period, imports from Russia totaled around 78,800 tons, decreasing by 28.7% year on year. The following included South Korea’s 19,900 tons and China’s 15,700 tons, skyrocketing by 185.1%, and 176.8% year on year, respectively.
