2618A aluminum plate sheet for Aerospace defence components
AL 2618 has excellent machining characteristics. The heat treated (aged) condition will allow machining to a smoother finish than is the case for annealed or water quenched conditions
2618A aluminum alloy material is an Al-Cu-Mg-Fe-Ni series alloy that can be strengthened by heat treatment. Due to its low silicon content, its thermal strength is relatively high, and it has high plasticity in hot state. The corrosion resistance of the alloy is acceptable. Machinability is good. For the manufacture of internal combustion engine pistons and complex forgings that work at high temperatures, such as compressor impellers, blower impellers, etc.
2618 aluminum alloy has high strength and good machinability, but poor corrosion resistance. Mainly used in rivets, general mechanical parts, aircraft, ships, transportation, building structural parts, transportation structural parts, propeller components and accessories
